Group A will consist of England's Manchester United, Spain's Real Sociedad, Germany's Bayer Leverkusen, and Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk. Each team will play each other in a home-and-away series, for a total of 6 games, with the top 2 teams advancing to the knockout stages to face the top 2 teams of the 7 other 4-team groups.

The first matchup between Sociedad and United is set for Wednesday, October 23rd, when Manchester United will host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford in Manchester, England. The second leg is set for Tuesday, November 5th, at Anoeta Stadium in San Sebastian, Spain.
Even without two of Mexico's biggest stars, this is definitely a tasty matchup between the legendary English club and the red-hot Spanish club. But fans of El Tri will certainly look on this as a battle of the country's top forwards in Europe.
